And We’ll Throw In Baltar…..

This week’s midseason finale for BSG was pretty good. It set off a Mexican Standoff between the humans and the cylons over the Eye of Jupiter. I already can’t wait for it to come back on. Anyway, here’s some pretty cool little Youtube vids with BSG set to the music of Disturbed & Papa Roach. Pretty good….

It’s All I Have Left…..

That’s what every person who loses an Object in the world of Sci-Fi Channel’s miniseries, The Lost Room, invariably says. Because while the Objects hold great power, they also ruin your life ala LOTR’s the One Ring.

The Lost Room is a back-door pilot for a proposed series on Sci-fi which I hope gets picked up, because it has the potential to be a next-gen Twilight Zone.

The set-up is this. Sometime in the late 1960’s, a motel room was ripped outside of space-time. It and all the objects that were inside have come back imbued with powers. Some are useful & dangerous like the Motel Key which will let you open a portal to any other door and The Glass Eye which can heal or destroy all flesh.

Some are almost useless like The Bus Ticket which will send you to a deserted area alongside a specific highway. But all the objects want to be reunited. So the people who get those objects invariably want the others.

Which is where Detective Joe Miller comes in. He comes into contact with The Motel Key when a young teenager he tried to mentor dies in his arms giving him the Key.

He gets drawn into the world of the Object seekers when his young daughter disappears into the Motel Room and he has to find out where the room has sent her.

This is the type of imaginative sci-fi that SFC should be doing more of. So i hope that the ratings on this were enough to convince them to green-light this for series or even just more minis…..
